unslop.run scored the full body text of 12,750 arXiv papers and found about a third of recent ones read as machine-written, up from a 0.4% floor calibrated against pre-ChatGPT 2021-2022 papers treated as ground-truth human. The spread is wide — roughly 65% of computer science papers flag versus 0.7% in math — and the figure is a lower bound, since incomplete detector coverage can only push the true share higher, not lower.
