Agility Robotics opens a Fremont facility to train Digit, up the road from Tesla's Optimus plant
Agility is opening a 60,000-square-foot Fremont facility to train its Digit humanoid, sited near where Tesla plans to build Optimus, and unlike the promised rivals it books revenue today — $300M in contract orders and paid deployments at Amazon, GXO, Schaeffler, and Toyota. CEO Peggy Johnson is steering a reverse-merger toward the first pure-play humanoid listing this year, and the Bay Area humanoid cluster is shifting from demo to deployment, with commercialization know-how — safety, compliance, warehouse-system integration — as the real moat over Figure and 1X.
