Anthropic is moving the 30-day retention window it imposed in June on Mythos, Fable, and future flagship traffic off its own servers and into the customer's cloud, after conceding in a report that the rule was unpopular and a business risk. The window itself is unchanged — this is a custody change, not a rollback — built over months with more than 100 customers in regulated industries and shipping this fall, with OpenAI testing a parallel approach alongside Databricks and Microsoft.
