Apple loses EU court challenge to its DMA gatekeeper status
The EU General Court dismissed all three of Apple's challenges to its Digital Markets Act gatekeeper designation for iOS and the App Store, and threw out its iMessage claims as inadmissible. The ruling hardens the DMA into settled law — Apple's only remaining route is an appeal to the EU Court of Justice, against fine exposure of up to 10% of global annual turnover for continued noncompliance.
