
California Strikes Deal for State Agencies to Use Claude at Half Price
California state and local government agencies can now access Claude at a 50% discount through a new state IT shared-services portal, under a deal between Anthropic and Governor Newsom's office announced June 29. The state's DMV and Department of Health Care Services already use Claude, and Anthropic is providing free workforce training; California CIO Chris Given is named in the announcement, alongside an unnamed Anthropic executive described only as 'Head of Americas.'
