Cursor launches Origin, a Git hosting service that syncs both ways with GitHub

Cursor shipped Origin, a cloud Git host reachable from a new tab in the desktop client and a dedicated command-line tool, with two-way GitHub sync and launch connectors for Vercel, Depot, and Buildkite. Its agents run either on the desktop or in cloud sandboxes that keep working on long tasks while the workstation is off, so the code now sits inside the tool that edits it rather than in a separate host. It is the first major launch since SpaceX closed its $60B acquisition in June, which puts Cursor in direct competition with GitHub for where teams keep their repositories.
