Claude Fable 5 and Mythos 5

The US Commerce Department lifted export controls on Anthropic's Claude Fable 5 and Mythos 5 models on June 30, ending an 18-day suspension triggered after Amazon researchers found prompts that could extract cyberattack-relevant information from Fable 5. Anthropic agreed to proactively detect and report security risks and coordinate with the government on future releases; access for users outside the US began restoring July 1. Mythos 5, an unguarded variant with cybersecurity and biology capabilities intact, stays limited to vetted partners including Project Glasswing cyber defenders.
