Gatik raises $200M two months after signing PepsiCo
Gatik pulled in $200M led by Qatar Investment Authority and Koch Disruptive Technologies, two months after a multiyear PepsiCo deal that now runs 41 driverless box trucks across Dallas, Phoenix, and Northwest Arkansas. The signal is commercial, not experimental — $600M in contracted revenue and dozens of fully driverless trucks operating without a safety driver, on surface streets and highways, around the clock. While the Bay Area's autonomy money chased robotaxis and long-haul rigs, the Santa Clara company took the middle mile and now sits nearly alone in it, with about $500M raised since 2019.

The technology has evolved and matured a lot over the last few years, especially with the latest generation of our tech. Our third-generation self-driving trucks operate around the clock on surface streets and highways, and can handle light rain and snow.
Why this matters
- → Middle-mile autonomous trucking moves from pilot to production at scale ($600M contracted revenue).
- → Gatik operates dozens of fully driverless trucks 24/7 without safety drivers on public roads.
- → While competitors chased robotaxis, Gatik captured an underexploited niche with minimal competition.
