Gemini Live adds autonomous Spark tasks, Daily Brief, and voice inbox control
Google wired four agentic features into Gemini Live: Spark, which runs multi-step jobs across Docs, Sheets, Drive and the web on its own over days or weeks; Daily Brief, a spoken Gmail-and-Calendar digest; hands-free email search, star, archive and delete; and Personal Intelligence, which pulls context from past chats plus Gmail, Photos, Search and YouTube. The paywalling is the tell — Daily Brief needs Google AI Plus, Spark needs AI Pro — so the long-running agent layer is a paid consumer tier, not a default assistant capability.

You can ask, "What does my day look like?" while you're making coffee. Gemini will brief you on your morning schedule and mention a few school newsletters and sports schedules sitting in your inbox.
Why this matters
- → Long-running agent tasks now execute autonomously via voice, not just on-demand
- → Paywalling Daily Brief and Spark signals agentic layer is premium tier, not default
- → Cross-app context (Gmail, Photos, Calendar, YouTube) lets assistant anticipate without re-prompting
