Meta in talks to lease up to $10B of AI compute to Anthropic over two years

Meta and Anthropic are in early, unconfirmed talks — proposed by Anthropic in June — for Anthropic to lease up to $10 billion of Meta's AI compute over two years, paid monthly with an early-exit option for either side. A frontier lab renting capacity from a direct model rival signals how far the compute shortage now overrides competitive lines, following Anthropic's earlier arrangement for SpaceX's Colossus 1.
