Nevada clears Tesla, Waymo, and Uber for up to 8,000 robotaxis in Clark County
The Nevada Transportation Authority unanimously approved commercial robotaxi permits covering up to 8,000 vehicles in Clark County over the next 12 months — 5,000 for Tesla, 1,000 for Waymo, and 1,000 for Uber through its Motional and Zoox partnerships. Those caps are ceilings rather than plans: Tesla Cybercab chief engineer Eric Early said 2,500 would satisfy the company next year, and Las Vegas becomes the first market where all three fleets compete for the same riders at scale.
