OpenAI launched Rosalind Biodefense, offering vetted developers and U.S. government agencies free access to GPT-Rosalind for epidemiological modeling, early outbreak detection, and vaccine development — with Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory, Johns Hopkins APL, and the Coalition for Epidemic Preparedness Innovations among the launch partners. The program has active work on the Bundibugyo Ebola outbreak, making this the first visible deployment of a frontier LLM inside a live public health response alongside U.S. national-security and global-health institutions.
