SoftBank and OpenAI launch a vulnerability-patching service for Japan's 3,000 critical infrastructure operators

SoftBank Group, SoftBank Corp., and their 50-50 OpenAI joint venture SB OAI Japan GK are launching 'Patching as a Service' — AI-assisted vulnerability assessment and remediation planning built from a large-scale internal pilot on SoftBank's own systems — and will begin outreach to Japan's top 3,000 critical infrastructure operators, including airports, power grids, and transportation networks. The launch moves the JV from formation into revenue mode and positions SoftBank as the primary commercial channel for OpenAI's cybersecurity models inside Japan.
