SoftBank and PayPay in talks for several-hundred-billion-yen Seven & i stake

SoftBank Corp. and PayPay are negotiating a stake worth several hundred billion yen in Seven & i Holdings, aiming to sign this summer to run SoftBank's in-house AI and autonomous robots across the convenience-store chain. The deal would extend SoftBank's OpenAI-backed enterprise AI into physical retail at national scale, turning Seven & i's store network into a testbed for AI-driven labor reduction.
