SpaceX signed a $60B all-stock deal to acquire Anysphere — maker of Cursor, which crossed $1B in annualized revenue last November — with the deal tracing to an April compute agreement under which SpaceX had been supplying Cursor with GPU capacity. The strategic read is direct: Grok has failed to crack the frontier AI coding market, where Anthropic, OpenAI, Google, and Meta lead, and SpaceX is buying a category leader rather than building from scratch.
