Advertiser FAQ

Everything we'd tell you on a call, written down so you don't have to schedule one.

The product

What is 415?

415 is a daily AI & tech briefing read by Silicon Valley operators in English and Japanese. We curate the day's most important headlines and ship one short edition per weekday morning.

Who reads it?

Engineers, product managers, founders, and executives at leading technology companies. Strong representation among JP-resident tech professionals — that's our differentiated audience.

What are the format rules?

Text-only. One sponsored slot per edition, two hard maximum. Headline ≤ 60 characters, body ≤ 300 EN / 200 JP characters, plus a CTA URL. The full rule set + banned-vertical list lives on the format rules page.

Pricing & booking

What does it cost?

Flat per slot, single edition. Headline slot $10.00. Section slot $5.00. Published rates are the rates — no negotiation, no tier discounts.

How do I book?

Sign in at /advertiser/auth/sign-in, complete your profile, and submit a slot. Your card is authorized at submission and only charged when an operator approves the creative — usually within 24 hours.

Can I get a discount?

No. The published rate card is the contract. Holding the line on price is how we keep editorial discipline and avoid sponsored content drifting into the editorial well.

What we don't do

Can I run an image, video, or pixel-tracked ad?

No to all three. Images and video would break the editorial typography of the newsletter and turn it into a media buy that competes with our editorial voice. Pixel tracking and behavioral retargeting are explicitly off the table — readers shouldn't be silently profiled by an ad they read in our newsletter. UTM tags on the outbound CTA URL are the only allowed measurement.

What languages?

English and Japanese editions. Each ad must match the edition language — no mixed-language ads ever. We offer free JP copy polish for advertisers without an in-house native speaker; submit either JP copy or English source and a JP operator lightly polishes for naturalness. The approval email shows the diff.

Can I get on a Zoom call?

We don't take un-gated calls. The product is async by design so it scales without operator overhead. Existing paying advertisers get an opt-in 30-min Google Meet with the founder after their campaign approves — that's the one synchronous touchpoint. For everything else: hello@415.tech, 1 business day response.

Measurement & reporting

How do you measure reach?

After your ad ships, we send a private results email with: unique opens for the edition your ad ran in, your CTA's click count, your CTR, and a comparison to category typical (Headline ~1%, Section ~0.5%). Your data, only your data. We never expose total list size publicly. See the reach promise page for what happens if your ad significantly underperforms.

When does 415 share subscriber count?

In the post-campaign results email, your campaign's actual unique opens — never publicly, never on this site, never in this FAQ. The pricing model rests on positioning + format discipline, not on a number-on-a-rate-card.

Operations

How do you handle JP tax / consumption tax?

Stripe Checkout handles tax collection where applicable. Your invoice will itemize any consumption tax (消費税) for JP-resident purchases. International advertisers pay USD net of VAT.

Can I see a sample edition?

The 415 homepage renders today's edition for anyone who visits. It's the same editorial format and typography your ad will sit alongside.
