Ati Robotics builds a near China-free tugger as US bans Chinese robot imports
India-based Ati Robotics ships a 10,000-pound tugger that is China-free apart from battery cells, plus a pallet mover under 5% Chinese parts, built on Bangalore's EV supply chain. The FCC's new ban on Chinese humanoids turns that engineering choice into a commercial moat — Ati has several hundred robots deployed across 50-plus customers and is standing up assembly near Detroit. Its own humanoid still runs on Chinese harmonic drives, frameless motors, and cells, with substitutes available from Germany, Taiwan, and Japan at higher cost.
