China's IPO haul hits $54B in 2026 as CXMT raises $8.6B and Shein lists in Hong Kong

Hong Kong and Shanghai listings have raised over $54 billion in 2026, past last year's $46 billion and now 21% of global IPO volume, second only to Nasdaq's 55%; memory chipmaker CXMT raised $8.6 billion and closed its debut up 466%, and Shein raised $1.7 billion at roughly $27 billion. The pricing is running on AI and robotics appetite rather than earnings — Unitree opened up 460% and has since fallen more than 40% from that peak — which makes Hong Kong the default venue for Chinese tech capital while US listings stay throttled by regulatory scrutiny on both sides.
