Japan's chip-tool makers lift FY2026 sales forecast 26% to ¥6.55 trillion on AI demand
SEAJ raised its FY2026 forecast for Japan-made chip-making equipment 26% to ¥6.55 trillion, roughly ¥1.05 trillion above its January call, driven by AI-server logic and HBM-led DRAM investment. The upgrade puts equipment demand on a 14.3% CAGR through FY2028 and pushes Japan's domestic market past ¥2 trillion for the first time — a marker that the AI capex cycle now runs through the toolmakers, not just the chipmakers.
