Micron lifts US chip investment to $250B through 2035, targeting 40% domestic DRAM
Micron raised its planned US plant spending by $50 billion to $250 billion through 2035 across New York, Idaho, and Virginia, with a target of making 40% of its DRAM domestically within a decade. The scale signals a real shift of memory-chip supply toward the US, backed by a $3 billion pledge to the domestic supply chain — including $500 million for GlobalWafers' Sherman, Texas plant. An early concrete pour at the Clay, New York fab is running more than a quarter ahead of schedule, a sign the buildout is moving faster than announced timelines suggested.
