Nscale buys Anyscale for $1.65B to own more of the AI compute stack
Nscale, the British neocloud valued at $14.6 billion in March's $2 billion Series C, is paying $1.65 billion for Anyscale, the team behind the open-source Ray framework, adding workload orchestration on top of its energy, data center, and GPU lines. The bet is vertical integration, not raw capacity: Anyscale keeps its brand and customers while its roughly 200 employees join Nscale, giving Ray users scheduling co-designed with the hardware beneath it. Anyscale's revenue grew 70% quarter over quarter, and the deal moves neocloud competition up to the software layer rather than GPU rental alone.
